Weightwatchers Honors Healthy Hood Chicago And Dion's Chicago Dream

WeightWatchers announced healthy food chicago and Dion’s Chicago Dream The award aims to empower and expand the work of local leaders to increase access to health care resources and improve overall weight health outcomes in historically marginalized communities. It’s an initiative.

These historically marginalized communities often face a lack of access to health care, unequal treatment, and distrust of the system when seeking care. Winning the Wellness Impact Award not only shines a light on these organizations, but also recognizes these organizations who are dedicated to improving the weight health of people who are disproportionately affected by systemic bias. It will also accelerate your organization’s efforts.

This year, more than 50 diverse organizations were nominated, all of whom are actively reimagining what health and well-being in their communities looks like. From this impressive pool of nominees, four of his BIPOC-led organizations, including Healthy Hood Chicago and Dion’s Chicago Dream, were chosen to receive $20,000 grants each, as well as free memberships in his WeightWatchers membership and products to the community. A donation was given. The 2023 grant recipients are:

  • healthy food chicago (Chicago, IL) – An organization dedicated to closing the 20-year life expectancy gap that disproportionately impacts Black and brown communities by addressing the high needs of resource-hungry communities.
  • black women for wellness (Los Angeles, CA and Stockton, NJ) – Organizations that leverage programs, policy, and research to address health inequities for Black women and their children.
  • Dion’s Chicago Dream (Chicago, IL) – An organization whose mission is to combat food insecurity and create economic, physical, and emotional stability for Chicagoans while addressing local food deserts across the city.
  • Sherry Cares Foundation (Ontario, California) – An organization working to fight hunger and provide safe and healthy food for youth, families and seniors in Canada.

“I was impressed by the thought-provoking content of all of this year’s submissions. WW Wellness Impact Award” said Tiffany Stevenson, Chief Human Resources Officer at WeightWatchers. “With this initiative, we are empowering individuals who are making a difference in their local communities by removing barriers to accessing health care, especially in communities of color, which we know are disproportionately impacted. This year’s award winners are all amazing organizations run by local changemakers and are important partners in our mission to raise awareness of everyone’s right to take control of their weight health. It will be.”

All award nominations were carefully reviewed and reviewed by the WW Wellness Impact Award Committee, a diverse group of WeightWatchers employees across levels and practice areas.

The four winners will also receive exposure to the WeightWatchers member and employee community through marketing and engagement opportunities as part of their recognition.
